CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is the time when young people embrace being disciples of Jesus Christ. They assume personal responsibility for their journey of discipleship-in relationship with the whole congregation who are on the same path. They learn to:
- pray with and be present and available for others in the faith community
- give of their time, energy, talents and resources to participate in it’s holy work
- and serve within and beyond the congregation.
Goals of Confirmation are to allow students to explore their faith and the faith of the congregation, and to allow students to explore ways to live their faith in their everyday lives. Our lessons are from the Living Lutheran module of the Collaborate Confirmation series created by Sparkhouse, a division of the ELCA’s Augsburg Publishing. Confirmation is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:15 PM for students in seventh and eighth grade.
